In the past year I've become increasingly distressed at the number of shady business practices employed by some people in this business. More and more, I'm finding companies that are nothing more than clearing houses for balloon rides. These businessmen (and I use the term loosely), advertise that they operate hundreds of locations and that you can go fly anywhere. The truth is, you must use a company in their network and the nearest one could be literally hundreds of miles away. We are located within an hour of NYC and Westchester County and only 30 minutes from Rockland County and Northern New Jersey. NY NJ PA CT
More upsetting than the deception of their locations is their despicable pricing practices. I've seen advertisements for balloon rides for 2/3rd's of what it should cost, only to find out that you are hit with "documentation charges" when you call. These charges bring your cost up to the same price everyone else is charging, but it's too late and you've been hoodwinked into buying this service. It's the old bait and switch, and if they tried it in print advertisements in the state of New York, they would be fined. But the internet is an emerging technology and until laws are written to protect the consumer, it's buyer beware. Until then, these unscrupulous people are giving ballooning a bad name by lying about what they really offer and the price they are charging.
Well, enough of my rant, here's the deal with our pricing. Our balloon
ride packages are spelled out clearly. Our flights are one hour
and the prices have no hidden charges. No launch fees and no fee to use
a credit card. There is no tax on balloon rides in New York State, and if
anyone tells you they can save you the tax if you pay cash is
lying.
